Erick Cárcamo currently teaches Architecture at UPENN School of Design, YALE School of Architecture and the University of Kentucky, College of Design; he is currently a Visiting Professor Lunds Tekniska Högskola LTH in Sweden. Erick has recently taught at Columbia University GSAPP NYC; PRATT Institute NY, the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, Die Angewandte and the Technical University of Athens. He has worked as Lead Designer for CoopHimmelb(l)au in Vienna, ASYMPTOTE Architecture New York, Xefirotarch in Los Angeles and freelance for Bernard Tschumi Architects, NYC. Born in El Salvador, Erick holds a Masters Degree in Advanced Architectural Design, AAD from Columbia University GSAPP and a Bachelor’s Degree from the Southern California Institute of Architecture, SCI_Arc, having been awarded full scholarships. Erick Carcamo is Principal and co-founder of X|A, which design intentions and processes deviate towards the extreme conditions of innovation and the pure coherence of technique invention; a practice networked in Europe, Latin America and the US, awarded in various international competitions and currently working on commissioned projects in diverse scales. Their expertise is based on experimental techniques in animation software, scripting and continuous Academic research. X|A’s work also include numerous publications and has exhibited solo shows in New York, Athens-Greece, Los Angeles and Lexington.

 

Nefeli Chatzimina is a New-York based architect holding a Master’s of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University after having previously studied in Lisboa and the Netherlands. Principal co-founder of X|Atelier, she has been working as an architect next to her professor Bernard Tschumi in New York since 2007. She has graduated from the N.T.University of Athens with a Master’s as an Architect Engineer having been awarded with the State Scholarship Foundation. Prior to joining Bernard Tschumi Architects. Nefeli has taught workshops at the National Technical University of Athens EMP, at the University of Lund in Sweden and has been a juror for final studio reviews at Columbia University NYC, the Pratt Institute of New York, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute NYC, the University of Kentucky and the University of Lund in Sweden. Her work has been exhibited at the Guggenheim museum of New York, at the Contemporary Arts Center of Cincinatti, the Benaki Museum in Athens and art galleries of New York, Los Angeles and Kentucky. Nefeli’s final design thesis was selected among the First Distinctive Projects in the 4th European Biennial of landscape architecture in Barcelona. Her projects have been published in magazines including ‘Form_The making of Design’ and has been exhibited at the Royal Institute of British Architects, in London. Many of her own projects including a private house and a retail store have been built, exhibited and awarded.
